Earthquakes and Sharks

Every now and then a song comes along that really speaks to me - lyrically, musically, whatever. I just find that when I'm listening to music certain songs really stick out for me.

Recently I've heard a song on FM949 that I not only really dig the beat of, but I also thoroughly enjoy it's lyrics. The band is called Brandtson, the song is titled Earthquakes and Sharks, and the chorus goes like this:

Earthquakes and sharks to start us off,
If Chupacabras ain't enough,
Black widow spiders and killer bees,
There ain't no shade, there ain't no trees.
Hot desert heat, polluted air,
And traffic jams beyond compare.
That's all I got to warn ya 'bout Mexico and California.

The song makes me think of all my California naysayers back home. (No, I'm not done with my vacation yet.)

If you'd like to peep the whole song, you can listen to it on their space. It's good times!
