Magic
Magic was quite possibly one of the most insane experiences I will ever have. The urban/street fashion industry is one of the most rediculous industries in existence today and I can't believe I'm a part of it. Words cannot describe what I experienced over the past few days so I won't even really try.
Alls I can say is that it was big.
Convention booths were not the size of small office cubicals like I expected, they were bigger than the house I grew up in. They were two stories tall, manned by bouncers and contained celebrities, exclusive samples of spring fashion, and tons of people who wanted nothing but to schmooze you.
The industry parties were some of the biggest and craziest parties I have ever been to. And somehow DrJays is so well known that when in line we passed the 100 people in the regular line, the 50 people in the VIP line, showed our passes to the guards and immediately had the ropes raised to let us in regardless of the capacity inside.
I had no idea.
In my small bubble of the San Diego office, I had no idea how big DrJays is or how big the urban fashion industry is. I mean, I knew, but I think I only knew to a very small degree. Now I know. It's crazy stuff.
Without a press pass I was only able to snap a few pics and quickly shove my camera back into my purse. The pictures don't really do the trip much justice, but it's a tiny glance into what I experienced.
