thunderstorms
Last night San Diego experienced one crazyass thunderstorm. Some people were scared or annoyed, I happened to absolutely love it. One of the things I miss the most about living in the midwest is thunderstorms. When I was little we used to turn off all the lights in my house, open the curtains of our big bay window and watch the rain fall and the lightening light up the sky. After I heard the rain and thunder start last night, I just laid in bed with my windows/curtains open and watched it for the longest time before I fell asleep. It was so cool. Something about it just gave me a really nice calm feeling, it's been a few years since I've seen a storm like that. Of course later in the evening the enormously loud claps of thunder woke me up about a dozen times; they shook my bed and I'm pretty sure they were right above my apartment, but even then, I still really enjoyed it.
This is a picture of the IB Pier taken by a Scripps camera last night. Crazy huh?
